ABOUT ANCIENT FAITH, MODERN TIMES

Darryl L. Fortson, M.D. is a family physician in Las Vegas, Nevada. Dr. Fortson is a writer with a passion for the Gospel of Jesus Christ and social justice. This Chicago native is a Magna Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia where he was inducted into the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. at Psi Chapter. He received his medical degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee and board-certified in both Family Medicine and Disability Evaluation. 

  Dr. Fortson is a former opinion columnist for The Northwest Indiana Post-Tribune, one of the local major daily newspapers. He also served as the Health Commissioner for Lake County, Indiana.  In addition, he writes gospel music and actively supports InReach Ministries, a ministry founded by his wife, Shelia. He has three children and resides in Las Vegas.
